E3.2 Reuse, Upcycle and Recycle

Requirement

E3.1.1 Adopt and implement a plan for recycling, composting, reusing all waste that meets the following requirements:

  • Recycling must include at least the following: paper, cardboard, glass, plastics, and metals.  Materials may be combined if allowed by the local recycling ordinance.
  • Posters, training and/or other information programs shall be provided for employees stating the logistics and requirements of the recycling program. 
  • Easily accessible areas shall be provided to serve the entire facility that are dedicated to the collection and storage of materials for recycling.  Recycling stations shall be provided for each 20 employees or occupants.  At each facility, there must be at least one centralized collection point (e.g. loading dock). 
Applicability

Applies to all businesses.

Publish the plan on the company website. AA Report should speak to how well the plan is being implemented.
